Banks Mill Studios is the innovation space for creative and digital industries, located in a landmark building within the heart of Derby City Centre.

Due to Covid-19 we will not be opening the building to the public as normal this year, however some artists will be greeting visitors by appointment only.

How to Find Us

On Foot
Banks Mill Studios is approximately a 20 minute walk from Intu Derby (formally known as the Westfield Centre), walking up via St Peter’s Street to Victoria Street, past Derby Central Library up to the Friar Gate then right onto Bridge Street.


By Train
The Derby Train Station is within a 30 minute walk of Banks Mill Studios. Train times are available from the National Rail website.


By Bus
A bus service operates throughout the day from near the bus station to Friar Gate, from there it is a two minute walk to the corner of Bridge Street and Brook Street. For more information about the bus route, please click here.


By Taxi
Alternatively it is a quick 10 minute journey by taxi from the city centre. Taxi’s can be found outside Intu Derby, the Derby Train Station or on Victoria Street.

Pay and display
Derby city centre has a pay and display charging system. Charges have to be paid on many streets within the city and apply every day, including Bank Holidays.

Disabled badge holders 
Disabled badge holders can park for free for up to three hours in dedicated on-street parking spaces. And free unlimited parking:

• in areas covered by on-street charging and limited waiting
• in areas covered by residents-only parking schemes

Car parking charges apply to all disabled badge holders in all Council owned car parks.
