Since moving into Banks Mill Studios in June 2018, my upholstery skills, combined with my previous experience as a fine art curator, have developed into a creative art practice.
I’m exploring the functional, the sculptural and the conceptual possibilities of chairs, inspired by the materials and processes of traditional upholstery work: the layering, the strong structural materials and the time-consuming processes that are usually hidden away under the top fabric of a reupholstered chair.

I have chairs for sale on my own website and smaller items such as footstools, sewing boxes and cushions listed in my Etsy shop, these all help to fund my more experimental work – the chairs you cannot sit in!!
